Mineral Resource Estimation
What is an MRE?
A ‘Mineral Resource’ is a concentration or occurrence of solid material of economic interest in or on the Earth’s crust in such form, grade (or quality), and quantity that there are reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction. The location, quantity, grade (or quality), continuity and other geological characteristics of a Mineral Resource are known, estimated or interpreted from specific geological evidence and knowledge, including sampling. Mineral Resources are sub-divided, in order of increasing geological confidence, into Inferred, Indicated and Measured
When will the MRE be announced?
The official word from both Greatland Gold, and Newcrest is that it is expected H2 2020 (which in layman’s terms, means between July and December of 2020.)
Any speculation outside of this, should be treated as such.
How will the MRE be announced?
At the time of writing, there is no clear defined process for this, and as such, the writers of this page, anticipate an announcement by Newcrest on the ASX, by News Release in the opening hour of the Australian Stock Exchange.
With Greatland Gold, duplicating that announcement as the London Exchange opens eight to nine hours later.
What information can I expect in the MRE?
The JORC Code, (2012) depicts what should and should not be included,
